It has been a number of months since we posted any updates on our product blog, and you may be thinking, "What slackers!". Well, we started using Twitter to post our changes, and we think it will be a better way to keep you informed of our updates. We will still be using this product blog to give you an overview of what we've done or maybe provide some hints as to some new upcoming features. But our weekly software updates will be posted to Twitter. Twitter is perfectly setup for this type of communication because it is quick to view and widely used by so many people. And since we've started to do more incremental software updates (like weekly) it seemed to make sense to use Twitter. So, follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/associo

| July Updates Show DetailsHide Details |
|
Over the weekend we posted a couple enhancements as a part of our July Software Update:
1. We added a new module called "Weblog". This module will eventually replace both the "News" module and the "Blog" module. These modules were so similar that we've had some confusion from clients about what the difference is between them. The answer is essentially nothing, so we decided it didn't make sense to keep them separate. The new Weblog module also gives you the ability to write a single entry, but post it on several blog instances on your website. Last, the new module will better facilitate the management of user comments as people read your blog and news updates.
2. We upgraded our field technology to better support the uploading of images and files. We use our field technology in a couple place in our software: * Product Options * Email Forms * Custom Fields * Smart Lists

| June Updates - Part 2 Show DetailsHide Details |
|
We've made some updates today to make it easier for you to work with and setup Entities.
- We gave you the ability to better preview pages when you are logged in as one entity, but want to make changes on another entity.
- You can now name pages the same across different entities. Before, you couldn't name a page the same at all in your system, even across entities.
- You can now add an entity and view the pages immediately without having to register a new domain, and have us setup your server to route that domain to your site. You can access new entity web pages as yourexistingdomain.com/entityname. So for example if your domain is association.com and your new entity name is PAC you could view your new entity's pages at association.com/PAC.

| June Updates - Part 1 Show DetailsHide Details |
|
We decided to make a couple of updates in June to get some of these features out to you sooner. We will most likely have three updates in June. This update is a minor update. We had some contact fields that were not displayed in our standard installation. We've decided to make these fields standard now, so you should all have them as of today. Here are fields that we've added:
- Middle Name
- Salutation (ie Mr, Mrs)
- Suffix (ie Phd, Jr)
- Phone Work Ext
- Phone Direct
- Phone Direct Ext
Lastly, we've added the ability to change dates on orders. To allow users to change dates on orders, they need to be a part of a group that has the permission to change dates set in the order module (set under Admin->UserGroups on the Modules tab).

| May Updates - Credit Memos Show DetailsHide Details |
|
We've recently performed an upgrade on Associo with the following two enhancements:
1. We've added the ability to do credit memos in the orders module. Previously if you had an order that was closed and batched, you would have to create a new order with the same line items, but change the amounts to be negative values. Not a huge deal for orders with a couple line items, but for large orders, this was very painstaking. Now with the click of the button you can create a credit memo on any one line item, or on the whole order. This will definitely make your jobs easier.
2. The second update is an update to the content editor we use called TinyMCE. There were a number of bugs effecting Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 users that should now be fixed with this version of TinyMCE.
Enjoy these updates! And stay tuned, we have more great functionality almost complete now that we will be launching in the June update!

| April Updates - Storing Credit Cards Show DetailsHide Details |
|

We recently finished an upgrade to our software to give associations the ability to store credit cards in the system for their members. This may seem like a small feature upgrade, but when you think about the security involved in storing credit cards, this is no small task. We take security very seriously in our software, and the last thing anyone wants is some sort of security breach that compromised user or financial data. The base line for us was that we wanted the convenience of stored credit cards, but we didn't want to store the credit cards on our servers.
To accomplish our goal, we enhanced our integration capabilities with Authorize.net, which is our preferred payment gateway. When the transaction goes through for the first time in Asscocio, we securely send all the data to Authorize.net, then they send us back a security token which we store in our database. This token is what is used for subsequent purchases for a client, so that they don't have to re-enter their information. It is very easy to use for both you or your members. For an extra $20/month now you can offer the added convenience to your memberse to have their credit cards stored for future transactions. If you are interested in using this service, just let us know and in just minutes we can just flip the switch on our end and you will be ready to go.

| Member Tools Update Show DetailsHide Details |
|
We've just finished an update to the tools provided to your member base. This update was created to save your staff time by allowing your members to review and pay their own membership fees online! It works automatically by detecting if there are one or more memberships that are awaiting payment for that member, and presenting a 'Pay Membership Dues' link in their menu.
Once your member arrives at our new tool they may report additional information about their business that may impact the cost of their renewal. This information can be used to custom tailor their membership fees, filter through a prorating table (optional), and report the new amount due in realtime for their review and bank card payment.
Once your member has settled their fees, they automatically move through the 'Dues Billing' process, leaving less for your staff to sift through and settle.

| Associo Interface Update Show DetailsHide Details |
|
We've been working hard over the past couple months on a new look for the back tools in Associo Software. Our main objective has been to allow the interface to grow and shrink depending on your screen resolution. So, if you have a small monitor the windows will shrink a bit and if you have a large monitor the windows will grow.
We are getting ready to launch the new interface in the next couple weeks, so be on the look out! Email us with your thoughts... products@associosoftware.com.

| New Reporting Features Show DetailsHide Details |
|

We've worked hard this summer on some really cool new features for Associo. One of these features is enhanced reporting. At our heart we love numbers in our company. Not only the bits and bytes that make up the software that our clients use, but also the numbers that help make organizations function. In our conversations with our clients, we realized that they weren't receiving good access to the numbers they need to manage things well. In response, we searched for the best reporting software out there that we could integrate into our application. We choose a piece of software that integrates with Crystal Reports and makes it very easy for us to write smart reports for our clients that give them access to not only the numbers, but also gives us the ability to present that information in a format that leads to knowledge. Knowledge is the stuff that allows people to make wise decisions, and it the core of any well run association. Another benefit with this reporting software is that if our clients are familiar with Crystal Reports, they will have no problem using our software to create their own reports.
